Haunted at Royal Academy of Music

Medium: Performance, music score, binary code text, noise guitar, tape machine, headpieces
Size: 10 minutes
Performed at the Royal Academy of Music Festival Sound and Vision Festival

The composition and performance piece 'Haunting' came about through a collaboration between composer Zhenyan Li and Toby Tobias Kidd discussing the possible songs of post human bots in an imaginary future landscape locked in a loop of technological haunting and becoming. Lyrics in binary code, a noise guitar track, a composition and performance; numbers and shapes to represent various states of consciousness.

The work engages in concepts of technology and utopias and our contradictory fetishism and fear of the digital dream.
